SPICY BRANSTON a.k.a Spice
DOB: 17.5.09
This is one of my newest female hedgehogs, I bought her on the 8th of august 2009 with her half sister Sugar, she is registered Spicy Branston partly after her dad, Branston Prickle, but she is called Spice for short.
She is an algerian grey hedgehog that has the most amazing colour, her temprement can be a bit huffy at times but I think this is partly due to her not having a very good start in life as she lost her mom when she was only 4 weeks old - poor girl!
She was born on the 17th May 2009, but she lost her mom to a metabolic condition at just 4 weeks old bless her, fortunatly the breeder was very switched on and reared her really well, so she is a beautiful healthy hog!
She is a very curious hog, and for all the huffing she does, she just can't resist popping her nose out for a sniff at whatever your doing, she loves her food and I have to watch her weight as she can become quite fat if she is fed too much, although hedgehogs are supposed to be fed ad-lib, she is one where I have to carefully wartch her intake and weight.
I tried to breed Spice and she gave birth to two hoglets, however they both died shortly after birth, and although she was a beautiful and caring mom, the stress was not good for as she spent days afterwards looking for her babies, so she has not been bred since then, but watch this space as I am considering trying her again with Igel!!
