Hedgehog news!
14.11.08 : The story starts here! Today Sally and I went to pick up a new addition to my family. He is an african pygmy hedgehog that is called Angelzoom. I have decided to call him Igel (german for hedgehog) for short (this took lots of deciding, and everyone was keen to get involved with choosing a name!!!). He is settleing in well into his new home and I am hoping he will be a lovely friendly hoggie!!
7.1.09 : Today Marie and I went to pick up a new addition, her name is Farley, however we have changed this, and she is a beautiful albino african pygmy hedgehog!
14.2.09 : Today both Igel and Ivy had a bath. It was Igel's second bath with me, but Ivy's first! I was a bit worried at first but I needn't have been, she was excellent to bath and she seemed to really enjoy the water! I am so pleased it went well for her as I was quite worried about how she would react to the water etc as she had given me a slight nip when I tried to cut her nails!
17.3.09 : I have decided that I will be breeding Ivy and Igel in the near future, so watch this space for any litter news!
23.4.09 : Some time during the day Ivy gave birth to one little male hoglet. I am really really pleased with her mothering skills and mom and baby are doing fine!
8.8.09 : Today I fetched 2 new hedgies to add to the collection, they are called Sugar and Spice, and are settling in well with me here. They are sisters that live together, however I am considering separating them soon!

23.8.09 : I will be breeding Igel to Ivy again this next week, so watch this space for hoglet news!
28.9.09 : Ivy gave birth to 4 beautiful hoglets, they are all donig well, 3 are dark (choco) and one is albino. There are 3 girls and 1 boy!
18.11.09 : Will be retiring Ivy from breeding due to her skin problems I think its unfair to potentially breed from her if the babies could end up with problems!
I have decided to breed Sugar soon so watch this space for sounds from the nest again soon! :-)
13.1.10 : Today I put Igel in with spice and he did the business with her, so we are hoping for some gorgeous little hoglets soon due around the 17th feb :-)
